Betsy Zimring, ASID, founded Betsy Pringle Associates over twenty-five years ago in New York City. She is certified as a professional interior designer by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design combined with architectural studies, Ms. Zimring began her career working in the design division of the Sheraton Hotel chain. She later founded the design departments for two famed carpet houses, Stark and Rosecore, where she created carpet designs for the White House and State Department. After about five years, Ms. Zimring branched off and launched her own design firm.

Widely known and respected for her impeccable sense of color, texture and space, she has spent her career creating personal and inviting environments in

New York City offices and apartments, as well as in suburban and country houses in Connecticut, Westchester and recently Millbrook, among others.

She is interested in the preservation of historical buildings as examples of art and culture and has augmented her knowledge with studies of architectural history and preservation techniques at Columbia University's School of Architecture. She is also a member of The American Friends of the Georgian Group as well as The National Trust for Historical Preservation.

Ten years ago, Ms. Zimring expanded her business to focus on Dutchess County where she became co-owner of The Red Shutters, a delightful upmarket country shop in Pine Plains. She has since bought and restored the 1850's Greek Revival cottage which she uses as a second office.
